Fall Foliage in the Adirondacks

Imagine splashes of yellow, orange and red against the backdrop of the Adirondack Mountains and Catskills. Now envision yourself in the middle of it all.

Peak color in most of the Adirondack Park occurs during the last week or two in September. The low lands to the north, south, east and west of the peaks generally have their best color during the first two weeks of October.

So, plan your fall foliage visit now and stay with us at Blue Mountain Rest. We’ve got excellent late summer/early fall rates and the view from your cabin is sure to take your breath away! Bring your camera along to capture memories of the fiery beauty of autumn in the Adirondacks to carry with you all year long.

Blue Mountain Rest, a Blue Mountain Lake rental property in the Adirondacks, is less than a tank of gas from NYC, Rochester, Syracuse, and Schenectady. A popular travel destination, Blue Mountain Rest offers guests clean and comfortable cabin rentals located in a dramatic wilderness featuring the majestic Adirondack Mountains, sparkling lakes and streams – all in an area abounding with recreational, historic and artistic attractions. And Lake George is also nearby with its many charming shops and fine restaurants.

Book your reservations early as cabins fill quickly. You’ll be happy you did…your stay at Blue Mountain Rest will leave you feeling inspired and rejuvenated. So, what are you waiting for!

Adirondack Antiques

A fabulous weekend of antiquing in the Adirondacks, with live music, food and fireworks in the area, awaits you during the Adirondack Museum Antiques Show, August 14 and 15.

Eclectic and unexpected, the Adirondack Museum Antiques Show and Sale will feature vintage Adirondack furniture, historic guide boats and canoes, genuine Old Hickory, Native American jewelry and artifacts, folk art, Oriental and Persian rugs, Olympic advertising, camp and trade signs, taxidermy, books and ephemera for the collector, and everything camp and cottage. Managed by Rod Lich, Inc., the show draws nearly 3,500 visitors eager to enhance their collections with “finds” from among the almost 80 dealers.

The show will be held at the height of the summer season so make your reservations at Blue Mountain Rest – a very popular travel destination — as soon as possible. After a busy and fun day of antiquing, our clean and comfortable cabin rentals will offer you a welcomed chance to kick back and relax — all against the backdrop of a dramatic wilderness featuring the majestic Adirondack Mountains, sparkling lakes and streams.

And the surrounding towns of Indian Lake and Blue Mountain Lake will host a variety of activities such as tailgate events, bluegrass music and fireworks, during the weekend. With the Adirondack region offering forty-three mountain peaks over 4,000 feet high, miles of rivers, streams and brooks, as well as lakes and ponds, you’ll want to consider making a reservation for a week long cabin rental at Blue Mountain Rest and spend the time hiking, climbing, paddling or fishing, as well as “treasure hunting” and relaxing.
